Liz Morton
ARTIST STATEMENT
My use of overlapping colors, texture, and pattern create layers of memories in time and space connecting everything right here, right now. I push my visual language in and out of the layers moving from transparent to opaque, from bold to subtle as I explore metaphysical and physical relationships. Evanescent and tangible, my work expresses the visual language in ways I could not otherwise express.

BIOGRAPHICAL
Award-Winning Artist and Eastern North Carolina native, Liz studied art at Appalachian State University (Boone and NYC), Barton College (Double Major: Printmaking & Illustration), The University of NC at Greensboro (MFA/Painting), and Ghost Ranch, NM (Intuitive Painting). Liz has experienced significant international travel exercising every opportunity to talk with other artists and visit the studios, museums, and galleries along the way. Active in the Metropolitan DC area art scene for twenty years, she is now home in her beloved coastal NC.
